Queen Street Nambour
Find Something Different in Queen Street
Queen Street is a small street located in between Currie and Ann Streets in Nambour. Walking into the street from either Howard or Lowe Streets you will come across a variety of interesting shops and businesses. As you make your way up or down the street you can find some of the following…
- Travel Agency
- Pet Shop
- Beauty Centre
- Professional offices
Most of the buildings are two storeys and each has a unique tale to tell. Olympic House, for example which was opened in 1956, the same year Queen Street was built stands at the Lowe Street end. Adorning the street are many gardens (maintained by the Sunshine Coast Regional Council) and unique seating areas. A bee mural (Art by Mieke) flanked by flower gardens can be found near the car parks opposite the stores.
The businesses and stores are a mixture of old and new with the emphasis more on vintage and retro rather than modern. People who are interested in history will find plenty to see as they make their way down the street. Business are owners are also more than happy to talk about their own little piece of town.
At 120 metres it is one of the smallest streets in Nambour. Traffic is one way and parking is limited making it a perfect place to take a stroll or to take some time out.
